My question is on the Cardiovascular Section under medicine.
The example Laureen provided in the Blitz was LD- Stent + Artherectomy =92933 and LC-- Stent + Angioplasty = 92929, which is the add on code.
I got confused on why do we have to use add on code 92929 in stead of using the add- on code that is listed under the 92933, which is 92934. Another thing I got confused is when Laureen stated Find all procedure that was done first and then figure out which one was more complex and then once that has been figured out list it as STENTS, ARTHERECTOMY, ANGIOPLASTY( PTCA).
I guess I am not understanding the concept on when to use an add- on codes or to determine how I would code theses coded. How can you determined which code is more complex than the other one. Like in the example she states the 92933 is more complex than the 92929, Could you provided an example???
Ruth, could you please help me.
Thanks
